I was starting to translate our latest post when Severine published it it in my back! You only got half a sentence. This is proper teasing.


I am back tonight for a new try (rugby try of course).


So we opted for the exotic Japan - Russia preparatory game before next year's Celebrations in New Zealand (I mean: The World Cup for those of you who only care for golf).


Many tries, no real suspense since the score ended with a flashing 75-3 for the Samurais. 


I was expecting more from the massive and upcoming Russians.


Their only excuse is the rather limited number of native Japanese players in the squad. Guess what: the names of the scorers are Tupuailail (in Japanese: Tou Pou A La You), Luke Thompson and Bryce Robin (Bri Sou Ro Bi  No). Sad.

Ce week end a ete dedie au lancement de la saison internationale de rugby. Foin des affiches ronflantes telle que Angleterre-Nouvelle-Zelande, nous nous retrouvons entoures de milliers de fans (oui) hysteriques (non) pour soutenir les brillants Samourais contre les Russes, nouveaux venus sur la scene internationale du rugby a XV.

Bon, il y a eu du spectacle au stade du prince Chichibu et des essais mais pas de suspense: 75-3 pour les japonais qui ont bouffe les slaves.

Comment de petits formats ont-ils pu pietiner ainsi la montagne russe? Nous avons le fin mot de l'histoire en cours de match et a la fin de la rencontre: les essais sont marques par Tupuailail (!), et Bryce Robin. en japonais, ca donne Tou Pou A La You et Bri Sou Ro Bi No.

Ceci note, le fameux Tupuailai est tres sympathique et plein d'hormones; Thomas tient a peu pres dans sa main.

Vous noterez qu'il fait toujours beau a Tokyo et que notre experience du rugby nous a permis de trouver les meilleures places au soleil pour profiter du spectacle.

La suite - Second Part

Hello a tous, Hello again,

Il va falloir que j'augmente un peu le rythme d'ecriture et peut etre que je fasse moins long....Bref vos conseils sont plus que bienvenus...il faut surtout que j'arrete les fautes d'orthographe...J'ecrirai donc cette fois en anglais car certains, outre-Manche notamment ont eu un peu de mal (Mike, Eurosport team....  this this specially for you...) et aussi cela cachera un peu mes fautes (la honte!).!

So since last post the boys came back from their soccer camp and they were delighted (except for the weather which was really rainy, damp and a bit cold). They were in Chiba near the sea shore and spent their time between the pitch, the onzen (kind of hot tubs but natural) and their friends.

Right after their return we took the famous Shinkanzen (high spped japanese train) to go to Kyoto, the former Imperial city where we spent 3 days with Antoine. (see pictures below). It was marvellous! We rented bikes there and went from the Gingkakuji (Silver Pavillon) to the Kinkakuji (Golden Pavillon - ultimate beauty for the Japonese writter Mishima), through the Philisophers' road, the Nijojo (castle)...Amazing! We were also very luck because in one of the places Fujimi Inari (thousands of Tori - red Happy gates-), we assisted the yearly Inari goddess party . Inari is the Rice goddess. We could see mongsts and farmers harvesting, bare foot !!! Incredible!

Antoine-san had to leave us on the Monday morning to go back to work and the boys and I took the train to Nara (also ancient town full of thousands of temples - shinto and budhist). Funny enough Nara is also the city of deers so Greg was the king of the place.!Nara is a nice place and for once we could also find some peaceful areas not crowed with thousands of visitors (a real luxury here where everything is so packed!). We spent there a few days and after long days of visit with the boys we could also enjoy bading in the onzen. The boys were going on their side...and me too (not bad!).

Back to Tokyo, we have experienced a real Japanese entertainement centre called Kidzenia, where kids can embrace different jobs , in kind of real, funny...Of course they tried firemen, barber, photograph, ...they printed their own business cards...

We did also Halloween. Some parents mainly French organised some big demonstrations between a few houses. Baptiste was a kind of vampire, Greg a loup-garrou (I do not remember the English word) and Thomas was a Formula 1 driver (weird...).

Halloween is in preparation...

Everybody is now back to school since last Monday...and I am back back to my Japanese lessons...We are now studying the negative & connective forms of verbs (like I eat but I do not drink at the same time...I do not know why but contrarily europeans Japanese people seem to do a lot of things at the same time...which is quite a pain in term of study and learning...if you see what I mean!...

Next Saturday, we have booked tickets with some friends to go to a Japanese rugby game (they re playing Russia)...let's see.
